I would like to add a corollary to the saying, “You can’t shoot the messenger just because you don’t like the message.”
“You can’t ignore the message just because you don’t like the messenger.” (Gosh I hope certain persons read this…)
UPDATE: Yes, I know this is called an “ad hominem” argument (wikipedia) but Latin is dead – I’m hoping that this will catch on instead.
